When air freight is worth it

Air freight costs considerably more per kilo than sea, so the question is never which is cheaper — it is what the waiting costs you. A production line stopped for want of a part, a retail order that misses its season, or perishable goods with a shelf life all change the arithmetic quickly.

We will tell you plainly when a cheaper mode still lands in time. Plenty of air shipments we are asked to quote would have arrived just as usefully by road into the GCC, at a fraction of the cost.

What we arrange

• Consolidated air freight — your cargo moves with other shipments on a shared air waybill, which lowers the rate for smaller consignments
• Direct uplift — your own air waybill on a named flight when timing matters
• Charter — when the scheduled capacity will not stretch, or the piece is simply too large
• Perishables and pharmaceuticals — temperature-sensitive handling and cool-chain storage
• Dangerous goods — declared and documented to IATA requirements

Dubai's two cargo airports

Dubai International (DXB) handles the bulk of scheduled belly-hold capacity, with cargo facilities at Freight Gate 5. Al Maktoum International (DWC) at Dubai South is the freighter hub, with more capacity for large and heavy pieces and direct access to the logistics corridor.

Which one suits your shipment depends on the airline, the routing and the size of the pieces — we book whichever gives the better combination of price and timing, rather than defaulting to one.
